Kees Verwey, 95, the last of the major Dutch impressionist painters, died Sunday at his home in the northwestern Dutch city Haarlem after a short illness, Dutch newspapers reported yesterday.

Known for his watercolors, Verwey he excelled in the school of painting that arrived in the Netherlands decades after its inception in France in the late 19th century.
