Annapolis man charged in rape of 17-year-old

County police charged an Annapolis man with sex offenses after a 17-year-old girl claimed he raped her in a hotel room Wednesday night, officials said.

Police said the man went to an Econo Lodge in the 2400 block of Riva Road about 10:40 p.m. and rented a room with the girl. When she refused to have sex with him, he allegedly choked her, held her on the bed and raped her, police said. The girl left the room and called Annapolis police, who arrested a man at his home. The girl was treated and released at the Anne Arundel Medical Center, where she identified the suspect after police brought him there, police said.

Cedric Byron Scott, 26, of the 400 block of Captains Circle, was charged with second-degree rape, a third- and fourth-degree sex offense and assault and battery, police said.
