Local man arrested on drug charges

July 21, 1995

Two county police officers looking for suspects in a mugging at Marley Station arrested a Pasadena man Wednesday night on drug charges, county police said.

Northern District officers Roger Crawford and Ralph Greaves were searching for the mugging suspects in Freetown about 10:30 p.m. when they saw a man who matched the description of one of them walking in the 4300 block of Coutros Court. When the man identified himself, the officers ran a computer check and learned he was wanted for drug distribution.

They took the man to the Northern District station. After he got out of the police cruiser, the officers searched the back seat and found eight bags of suspected cocaine and a bag of suspected marijuana. The man also had a pager and rolling papers on him, police said.

Police charged Carlos Maurice Pearmon, 22, of the 8000 block of Solley Road, with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia and the unlawful manufacture of cocaine. He was not charged in the mugging.
