Police evacuate business after threat of explosive

July 19, 1995

Employees at a business in the Baymeadow Industrial Park were evacuated Monday night when someone called in a bomb threat, county police said.

Police said John Woolsoncroft, 34, the supervisor at North American Beauty Services in the 6700 block of Baymeadow Road, received a call about 8:30 p.m. from a woman who said that a bomb was in the building and that it was going to kill everyone.

Police evacuated the business and had a bomb-sniffing dog sweep the store. The dog alerted officers to some boxes in a back office of the building, but state fire marshal bomb technicians did not find any explosives in them, police said.

Company officials would not say how many workers had to be evacuated from the building.
