Superintendent Michael E. Hickey announced at Thursday night's school board meeting the final eight transfers and promotions of assistant principals. They are:
* Sam Davis, acting assistant principal at Mayfield Woods Middle School, will become assistant principal at Glenwood Middle School.
* Barbara Hoffman, a resource teacher for gifted and talented students, will become assistant principal at Patuxent Valley Middle School.
* Janet Freeman, a teacher at Glenelg High School, will become assistant principal at Mayfield Woods.
* Yvonne Smith, an assistant principal in Baltimore, will become assistant principal of Clarksville Middle School.
* Karl Schindler, a teacher at Wilde Lake High School, will become assistant principal at Mount Hebron High School.
* Barry Odell was appointed assistant principal at Wilde Lake High. He was an assistant principal in Howard County before leaving to enter private business several years ago.
* Connie Lewis, an assistant principal at Mount Hebron, will be transferred to Atholton High School.
* Lynn Bartle, an assistant principal at Atholton, will be transferred to Glenelg.
The school board unanimously approved the six appointments. It was not required to act on the two transfers.
