Image Dynamics wins for B&D promotion

Image Dynamics has received a first place in the "Special Events and Observances" category in the 1995 "Best in Maryland" awards sponsored by the Public Relations Society of America.

The Baltimore-based advertising and public relations agency won for a program created for Black & Decker's "Vac N'Mulch" blower and vacuum. The agency also garnered a regional Creativity in Public Relations Award for work done for Continental Airlines.

Classic Communications, a Baltimore-based advertising, public relations and marketing firm, has won first prize in the 1995 "Best in Maryland" awards sponsored by the Public Relations Society of America. The firm won in the "Unconventional Tactics" category for a campaign produced for Warner Corp. Inc., a plumbing company based in Washington. The "Best in Maryland" annual competition recognizes public relations work by Maryland firms.

Magazine honors Inner Harbor hotel

The Stouffer Renaissance Harborplace Hotel has received a Pinnacle Award from Successful Meetings, a meeting and travel management trade magazine.

The 1995 Pinnacle Awards winners were chosen by readers through a ballot procedure. The Stouffer hotel was selected based on outstanding service, meeting rooms and exhibit space, social consciousness, quality of food and beverages and accessibility. The 622-room luxury hotel overlooking Baltimore's Inner Harbor offers 18 meeting rooms, a large ballroom, Windows Restaurant and Lounge, the Lobby Bar, an indoor swimming pool and fitness center.

Currently, there are 90 Stouffer Renaissance Hotels in 27 countries.

First United National names 3 to board

First United National Bank & Trust, based in Oakland, Md., has named three new members to its board of directors.

The new members are: Paul Cox, president of Antietam Business Equipment Inc. and Pro-Tax in Hagerstown; Don E. Moran, secretary and treasurer for Moran Coal Co., Moran Trucking Co. and Moran GMC and a partner in E.S. Moran & Sons; and William B. Grant, a certified financial planner and executive vice president of First United National.

CPA practices merge, open Catonsville office

David M. D'Amelio and Mark A. Cohen have formed D'Amelio, Cohen and Associates, combining their CPA practices. Their new offices are on Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville.

Mr. D'Amelio concentrates on accounting, tax, management consulting and financial planning services for professionals, entrepreneurs and small to mid-sized businesses. Mr. Cohen specializes in marketing, tax and financial planning and is a registered investment adviser.
