Residents urged to sort recyclables

County government urges residents to sort their recyclables from their trash and to use their trash hauler to process items.

Each hauler licensed to collect trash must provide curbside recycling to customers as part of its licensing agreement with the county.

The Carroll County Recycling Center at Northern Landfill on Route 140, Westminster, also gives reimbursements for

aluminum cans and accepts car batteries from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.

Recyclable items may be dropped off at the Recycling Center from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.

For information, call the recycling office at 857-2633.
