Nominations are sought for 'beautiful' volunteers

July 09, 1995

In conjunction with the Department of Business and Economic Development and the governor's office, the "Maryland You Are Beautiful" campaign is accepting nominations for the annual "Maryland's Most Beautiful People" Volunteer Awards.

This year's award focuses on the people who work at promoting Maryland -- such as tour guides at museums or historic landmarks or people who may have organized a local fair, festival or parade.

The deadline for nominations is Aug. 25.

Nomination forms are available in various public buildings throughout the state.

Nominees will be honored at a local award ceremony with one nominee from each county and Baltimore City chosen to go on to the statewide awards ceremony in Annapolis, featuring Gov. Parris N. Glendening, in November.

Information: 333-6611, Ext. 300.
