2 boys charged with destroying tire

July 07, 1995

Two Brooklyn Park boys were charged with disorderly conduct and destruction of property Tuesday after a spare tire was damaged with a smoke bomb, county police said.

John David Burkett, 36, of the 5100 block of Brookwood Road, reported the incident at about 12:30 p.m. A neighbor told police he saw two boys put a smoke bomb on a spare tire in Mr. Burkett's 1984 Chevrolet truck, police said. The neighbor, who identified the boys, also told police the youths ignited another smoke bomb and placed it in a mailbox at the corner of Brookwood and Southerly roads.

The boys, both 11, were charged as juveniles and released to their parents.
