A pickup truck was split in half by a 7,561-ton CSX freight train at a crossing in Elkridge yesterday, but no one was seriously injured.
The accident occurred at 3:30 p.m. on the tracks at Hanover Road near Race Road.
The truck's driver, Karl David Kelley, 29, of the 6400 block of Hawthorne Ave. in Elkridge, was arrested on a number of charges, including driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended or revoked license and failure to obey railroad crossing signals.
