Robber takes cash after hitting clerk with golf club

July 05, 1995

A bandit attacked a convenience store clerk with a golf club and stole an undisclosed amount of money early Saturday, county police said.

The clerk at the Dash In store in the 7800 block of Quarterfield Road told police that a man walked in about 4:30 a.m. and demanded money. When the clerk did not respond quickly enough, the robber hit him on the arm, police said. The robber then went around the counter, took the money and ran, police said.

Police searched the area but could not find the robber. The clerk, 32, declined medical treatment.
