Street protests in N. Ireland

Violent street protests returned to Roman Catholic areas of Belfast in Northern Ireland yesterday after a British soldier was released from a life term for the murder of a Catholic girl in 1990.

Protesters in working-class Catholic parts of Belfast went on thmarch and burned more than 100 cars, vans and buses within hours of the announcement.
