Cincinnati Reds -- Assigned top draft pick P Brett Tomko to Single-A Charleston.

Cleveland Indians -- Activated C Sandy Alomar from the disabled list; waived C Scooter Tucker.

Colorado Rockies -- Signed C Matt Nokes, released by the Orioles June 19 after hitting .122, to a minor-league contract.

Oakland Athletics -- Signed P Ariel Prieto to a minor-league contract.

St. Louis Cardinals -- Placed IF Chris Sabo on the 15-day DL with back spasms; called up OF Terry Bradshaw from Triple-A Louisville.
