A 19-year-old Parkville man was arrested after questioning by homicide detectives yesterday and charged in the fatal shooting of a Hamilton man during an argument on the Parkville Shopping Center parking lot a week ago.

Justin Todd Bell of the 3000 block of Linwood Ave. was being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, charged with first-degree murder in the death of Bryan Michael Maxwell, 20, of the 2900 block of Clearview Ave., whose brother was wounded in the incident.

"We first learned about Bell through witnesses who gave us his name," said E. Jay Miller, a county police spokesman. He said an investigation led to Mr. Bell's arrest and being charged.

Mr. Miller said police were not sure what sparked the argument about 2:15 a.m. June 23 involving Mr. Maxwell, his brother Christopher Brennan Maxwell, 19, and three other men at the shopping center in the 7600 block of Harford Road.

The shooting of Christopher Maxwell is being investigated, police said.
