Major League Baseball -- Announced that Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami will be site of the All-Star Game in 2000.

American League -- Named Johnny Oates, Phil Garner, Brian Butterfield, Tony Cloninger, Billy Connors and Willie Randolph coaches for the All-Star team.

National League -- Named Terry Collins, Jim Riggleman, Joe Kerrigan, Jerry Manuel and Tommy Harper coaches for the All-Star team.

Atlanta Braves -- Placed 2B Mark Lemke on the 15-day DL, retroactive to June 25. Purchased the contract of IF Mike Sharperson from Triple-A Richmond.

Boston Red Sox -- Designated IF Terry Shumpert for assignment. Recalled IF Juan Bell from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Chicago Cubs -- Placed P Anthony Young on the 15-day DL, retroactive to June 23. Purchased the contract of P Rich Garces from Triple-A Iowa.

Chicago White Sox -- Placed C Mike LaValliere on the 15-day DL. Recalled C Chris Tremie from Triple-A Nashville.
