Knife-wielding man robs cabdriver

June 28, 1995

A man held a knife to the throat of a cabdriver yesterday and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.

Phillip Hamon, 25, a driver for AC Taxi in the first block of Crain Highway, was not injured.

Mr. Hamon told police he picked up a man at the Cromwell light rail stop and drove him to the 7800 block of Bruton Drive in the Valley Brook apartment complex.

When they arrived about 12:35 a.m., the man put a knife to Mr. Hamon's neck and demanded money, police said. Mr. Hamon surrendered the cash, and the man ran toward Winborne Drive, police said.
