Zoning board OKs expansion at legion post

June 27, 1995

The Carroll County Board of Zoning Appeals has approved an expansion plan for the Hampstead American Legion Post 200 at 4600 Legion Lane.

The post plans to build a new social hall with stage and expand the lobby, office, kitchen and storage facilities. The hall, which also is used for community functions, will accommodate 500 people.

The board ruled that all activities at the American Legion must end by 10 p.m. and that a row of evergreen trees must be planted to screen the parking lot from nearby homes.
