June 27, 1995

A 6-year-old Arnold boy suffered a broken right thigh and a skull fracture Sunday when he was struck by a car, police said.

Quintin Richard Hawkins was flown to D.C. Childrens Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition yesterday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Asbury Reginald Pulley, 48, of the 100 block of McKinsey Road was northbound on Shirleyville Road near Jones Station Road at 1:42 p.m. when the boy ran from a driveway into the path of the car, police said.

The front of the Buick struck the boy, who became entangled underneath the car and was dragged about 18 feet, the police report said.

Police said no charges have been filed, but they are still investigating the accident.
