Baltimore man charged with shoplifting shorts

June 23, 1995

A Baltimore man was arrested Wednesday afternoon on charges of shoplifting $284 worth of shorts from a Hecht's store in Marley Station mall, county police said.

Joseph Kinsey, a security officer at the store, said a man came in about 3:45 p.m. and took five pairs of Guess shorts from the rack.

The man stuffed some of them into a bag and took some into a dressing room where he put them on under his pants, the officer said.

The man tried to leave without paying and security officers stopped him, police said.

Kevin Lovelace, 33, of the 1000 block of Argyle Ave., was charged with misdemeanor theft.
