Officers stop car, make drug arrest

June 23, 1995

A Pasadena woman was arrested on drug charges Wednesday night after two officers stopped her car in Freetown, county police said.

Officer Eric Gennett and Officer Keith Light were on routine patrol when they saw a 1980 Ford Mustang drive into an area known for drug dealing about 8 p.m. The car left after a few minutes, police said.

When the driver didn't come to a complete stop at Whitaker and New Freetown roads, police pulled her over. The woman gave the officers permission to search the car, police said. Under the front passenger seat the officers found a beer can that had been turned into a narcotics pipe and a vial containing a small amount of suspected cocaine, police said.

Susan Ann Goan, 34, of the 3600 block of Mountain Road, was charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Suspected cocaine found, man arrested

County police arrested a Pasadena man Wednesday afternoon when they found a bag of suspected cocaine in his truck, officials said.

Officers Eric Gennett and Keith Light saw a 1991 Chevrolet S-10 leave an open-air drug market in Freetown about 4 p.m. They followed the truck to the corner of Freetown and New Freetown roads. When the truck stopped in the intersection instead of behind the marked line, the officers made a traffic stop and searched it, police said. They found the bag of suspected cocaine behind the driver's seat.

Danny Leroy Bitner, 37, of the 7700 block of Notley Road, was charged with possession of cocaine.

Stakeout results in drug arrest

Narcotics detectives acting on an anonymous tip staked out a Shell gas station Wednesday night and arrested a Baltimore man on drug charges, county police said.

The detectives had received a call that a man was in Glen Burnie, dealing drugs from a new red Oldsmobile. Detectives checked several locations, then saw a man fitting the description at the Shell gas station at Ritchie Highway and Jumpers Hole Road about 8:15 p.m.

The officers searched the man and found 5 grams of suspected crack cocaine in his wallet. He was arrested, and his 1995 Oldsmobile Achieva was seized under drug forfeiture laws.

Kevin Reginald Stewart, 22, of the first block of N. Fulton Ave., was charged with possession of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
