Stitz signs 3-year deal with Spirit

June 21, 1995|By Doug Brown

The Spirit's Barry Stitz, who had career highs in goals (32), assists (22), points (85) and blocks (47) in his third season with the club, has signed a three-year contract, terms of which are unavailable.

"I remember the day he first came to a minicamp in August 1992," said Spirit vice president Drew Forrester. "Now he's an established part of our foundation and one of the most reliable and productive midfielders in the league."

Stitz, a graduate of Archbishop Curley and Towson State, played in all 40 regular-season games last season and has missed one in three years.

"I'm glad to be part of the challenge for at least the next three years," Stitz said.
