Woman charged with stabbing her husband

A 28-year-old Florida woman was charged with stabbing her estranged husband in the abdomen with a kitchen knife after an argument in Columbia on Friday, Howard County police said.

April Elizabeth Delmonaco, 28, of Miami was being held yesterday on $50,000 bail at the Howard County Detention Center.

Ms. Delmanaco is charged with assault with intent to maim and assault and battery, police said.

Her husband, Gregory Harrison Hill, 34, of the 3200 block of Lightning View Road in Oakland Mills village in Columbia was reported in serious condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, police said.

Officers responding to a domestic dispute about 8 p.m. found Mr. Hill lying outside his house with a kitchen knife stuck in his abdomen, police said.

Ms. Delmonaco was treated for cuts on her head and in her mouth at Howard County General Hospital, police said.
