BOWIE -- Jim Wawruck's first RBI in eight games knocked home the winning run, giving the Bowie Baysox a 3-2 Eastern League victory over the Canton-Akron Indians last night that ended a three-game losing streak.

Wawruck's opposite-field single scored Jarvis Brown, who had doubled to lead off the fifth inning.

Before 10,265 at Prince George's County Stadium, five Baysox pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts. Rick Forney, coming off the disabled list (stiff elbow), made his first start since Memorial Day and went three innings. Scott Conner (1-1) received credit for the victory and Joe Borowski gained his second save.
