Father and Son

June 16, 1995|By Robert H. Deluty

He died. He was too young

To experience retirement

and daughters-in-law;

To enjoy grandchildren

` and peace of mind.

He died. I was too young

To ask him to detail his

parents and childhood,

dreams and disappointments;

To tell him directly that

My pride in him was surpassed

( Only by my love for him.

Both too young. Now too late.
