Bistro in Owings Mills makes a Liberatore's trio

TABLE TALK

In yesterday's Maryland Live, an incorrect location was given for the newest Fresh Choice restaurant. Its Columbia location is 10215 Wincopin Circle.

+ The Sun regrets the errors.

Fans of Liberatore's in Timonium will be delighted to learn that a third Liberatore's will be opening in Owings Mills by the end of the year. (The first is in Eldersburg.) Liberatore's Bistro will be more casual, with a rustic Italian decor, an open kitchen, more pastas and pizza and somewhat lower prices.

* The Brass Elephant opened 15 years ago, and in honor of the occasion the Northern Italian restaurant will practice "retro pricing" from July 1 to Sept. 15. That means 1980 prices on its 1995 menu. Dinner entrees, for instance, will run from $11 to $17.75.

FOR THE RECORD - CORRECTION

* On the way back from the shore, we stopped for lunch at the Chester River Inn on Kent Island not far off Route 50. Forget the pit beef places and fast-food joints along the way. Here you can have curried zucchini and crab soup or a chilled asparagus and pink grapefruit salad with mango dressing. The meal wasn't fast and it wasn't cheap, but it was good. (No need to dress up, either. We were in shorts.)

* A Fresh Choice, part of the chain of upscale, health-conscious cafeterias, has opened in the Fairfax Towne Center in Columbia. Specializing in soups, salads, pasta and its own baked goods, Fresh Choice has lunches for $5.95 and dinners for $7.25. Salad lunches and dinners are a dollar less.

* Citronelle in the Latham Hotel is having a series of guest chef dinners beginning June 29. For the first dinner, chef Andre Genin Chez Pauline in Paris will offer a four-course dinner with wine. Reservations are necessary; the cost will be $125. Visits by world-renowned chefs are planned six times a year.
