Girls can attend six-week camp in field hockey

Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks will offer a six-week girls instructional field hockey camp from 5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays beginning June 27 at Glenwood Park, Route 97 and Carrs Mill Road.

The camp, taught by Jeannette Ireland, varsity coach at Mount Hebron High School, is open to girls from 5 to 9 years old. It will cover stick-handling skills and offensive and defensive techniques.

Girls must bring a water bottle, mouth guard, shinguards and field hockey stick.

The cost is $50.
