Ferguson named Coach of Year

Nancy Ferguson, the head coach of three girls varsity sports at Fallston High School, has been honored as the first Toyota/Baltimore Sun Coach of the Year.

In guiding her teams to a 52-3 record, Ferguson had all three in the state playoffs. The 17-0 soccer team produced her first Class 1A-2A state title; the basketball team (22-2) lost to Hammond in ++ the closing moments of the state 2A championship game; and the lacrosse team (13-1) lost in the 1A-2A state semifinals to eventual champion Loch Raven.

Coaching all three sports for the better part of the last 10 years, Ferguson has compiled a record of 350-95-5, with 16 Harford County titles and 14 regional crowns.
