Production firms merge to form Pixel Workshop

Media production companies Bittner Video Services and Energy Multimedia have merged to form Pixel Workshop at 9650 Santiago Road in Columbia.

Women's network to meet at Oakland

The Business Women's Network of Howard County will meet from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. June 21 at Oakland in Columbia.

The cost is $15 for members paying at the door or guests; $12 for members who register in advance.

Women's Bar Association to hold reception

The Women's Bar Association of Howard County will sponsor its third annual spring reception at 6:30 p.m. June 22 at the Columbia Inn.

Tickets are $20.

The association recently held elections for 1995-1996. Bobbie Fine was elected president; Deborah Dwyer, vice president; Conwell Sapp, secretary; and Ann Balcerzak, treasurer.

Open house planned at Hopkins center

The Johns Hopkins School of Continuing Studies' Division of Business and Management, Columbia Center, will hold an open house for those interested in part-time graduate programs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at 6740 Alexander Bell Drive, Columbia Gateway Park.

The division offers master's degrees in business, information and telecommunication systems for business, marketing, real estate and applied behavioral science.

A number of certificate programs also are available.

College to offer two insurance classes

Howard Community College will offer two classes, Life Insurance Renewal Training and Health Insurance Renewal Training, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the college's Business and Industry Training Center, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive in Columbia.

The cost is $30 each; $60 for the full day of training.

Insurance professionals must receive licensing renewal training by June 30.

Chambers schedule breakfast meeting

The Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce and the West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold a networking breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. June 20 at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, 14501 Sweitzer Lane in Laurel.

The cost is $25; $15 for members.

Columbia Type & Art at 10741 Little Patuxent Parkway is changing its name to Digital Prepress Imaging (DPI).

The company offers typesetting, graphics camera work and desktop publishing.

LUGnuts users group to meet in Columbia

The LUGnuts, the LANtastic Users Group, will meet from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. June 20 at Computer Solutions, GSD at 10632 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia.

The topic will be LANtastic Power Suite. Chuck Sherman, vice president and general manager of Computer Solutions, GSD will serve as moderator.

Orchard Development adds two managers

Orchard Development Corp. in Ellicott City has announced the addition of two managers to the business.

Robert Williams has joined as project accountant and financial manager. He was controller at PCF Management and Land Design and Development.

Scott Armiger has joined as development director and project manager. He was superintendent and project manager with James W. Miller Inc.

Doctor receives Hopkins teaching award

Dr. Thomas Finucane of Columbia has been named recipient of the Professor's Award for distinction in teaching in the clinical division at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

He is director of the Elder House Call Program at the Johns Hopkins Geriatrics Center and associate professor of medicine at the university's medical school.

Clyde's of Columbia names general manager

Anthony X. Moynagh has been appointed general manager of Clyde's of Columbia.

Mr. Moynagh previously was general manager of Clyde's of Georgetown in Washington and has been with the restaurant group since 1977.
