June 02, 1995|By Vito Stellino

Tight end Jamie Asher of Louisville, one of the two players the Washington Redskins drafted on the fifth round this year, signed a three-year, $536,000 contract yesterday.

Asher, the third player picked on the round, got a $90,000 signing bonus and the minimum salaries for the first three years VTC -- $119,000, $149,000 and $178,000.

All of the team's draft picks were at Redskin Park yesterday for the start of rookie drills without pads, but a player must be signed to participate in training camp, which opens July 20.
