Firemen's Carnival starts Monday in New Windsor

The Firemen's Carnival in New Windsor will begin Monday and run though June 10 at the carnival grounds on Atlee Avenue.

Lunch is served daily from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. Platters will be served in the evenings. Monday, Roll the Dice will perform. Tuesday, Country Edition entertains and Family Night will be offered. Ride all evening from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Giant Firemen's Parade is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday. Roast beef platters will be on sale that night. Thursday is Family Night and Dixie Hiway Band will perform. On June 9, the Dixie Rebels will entertain and chicken platters will be available.

June 10, The Versetones, a York, Pa., gospel quartet will perform. The grand drawing for a 1995 Chevy S-10 Series pickup truck will be June 10. Roast beef platters will be sold.

Trinity to install Barnhart as deacon

Charles Barnhart will be installed as deacon of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at 4 p.m. Sunday, which is Pentecost Sunday.

He is a graduate of the Order of St. Stephen, and was named a deacon last month at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Baltimore.

Mr. Barnhart serves Trinity as choir director. As a deacon, he will assist Trinity and Taneytown in a Ministry of Service, under the direction of the Rev. John S. Douglas, Trinity's pastor.

The preacher for the installation will be the Rev. Matt Thiringer, of Ascension Lutheran Church, New Brunswick, N.J.
