Bank names Dyrwal to real estate position

Taneytown Bank and Trust Co.'s vice president, Christopher D. Holt, has announced that Janine K. Dyrwal has joined the bank as a commercial real estate representative. She will develop and administer the bank's Carroll and Howard counties' portfolio.

Ms. Dyrwal was a credit analyst at Huntington Bank in West Virginia. She is an honors graduate of West Virginia University. Linda McDaniel has joined the support staff of Glass, Jacobson and Associates as an administrative assistant.

The Manchester resident has worked in public accounting firms and as an office manager.

Glass, Jacobson and Associates is a regional firm of certified public accountants and management consultants, serving the Baltimore-Washington business community with offices in Owings Mills and Columbia. Thomas K. Ferguson, president and chief executive officer of Carroll County Bank and Trust, has announced the promotion of Michael L. Oster to the position of executive vice president.

Mr. Oster is chairman of the Maryland Banking School board of trustees, director and treasurer of the Rotary Club at Bonds Meadow and a board member of St. John's School. He and his wife, Colleen, and two sons live in Westminster.

Mr. Ferguson also announced that Mark A. Keidel and Christine L. Whiteleather have been named senior vice presidents; William K. Stocksdale, vice president; Catherine Wenzing Grant, Dorothy M. Johns and Sherry L. Mott, assistant vice presidents; and Carolyn Babylon, chief internal auditor.

Mr. Keidel joined the bank in 1987 and has been vice president and treasurer. He has also been named chief financial officer with responsibility for oversight of financial and regulatory reporting, budgeting and profit planning, tax planning, payroll PTC and accounting operations.

He and his wife, the former Leslie Powell, live in Taneytown.

Ms. Whiteleather was also named chief investment officer. She is responsible for managing the bank's investment portfolio. She joined the bank in 1984. She serves on the board of Carroll Lutheran Village and as secretary of the Carroll County Arts Council.

A native of Westminster, she and her husband, Thomas, reside in Westminster.

Ms. Babylon, of Westminster, is responsible for the internal audit function, which includes compliance loan review and security. She is a director of the Carroll County District of the American Red Cross and is a leader in the 4-H Therapeutic Riding Program.

Mr. Stocksdale joined the bank in 1985. He is responsible for selection and management technology used to support the services the bank provides to the public. He is a past president of Westminster Kiwanis Club. He and his wife, Angela, and their daughter live in Westminster.

Ms. Grant, who joined the bank in 1993, is responsible for managing the trust administration unit. She and her husband, Barry, live in Westminster.

Ms. Johns has been a bank employee since 1979. She is responsible for managing the staff and operations of the deposits department. She and her husband, Roy, live in Hanover.

Sherry L. Mott joined the bank in December 1986. She is a certified trust operations specialist. She and her husband, Richard, live in Mount Airy. Carroll County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a meeting at noon June 8 at Wakefield Valley Golf and Conference Center in Westminster.

M. Alexander Jones, director of Carroll County Department of Social Services, will update the group on welfare reform.
