POLICE

* Westminster: A Hampstead man reported that someone damaged the right-side door of his car while it was parked on the Wal-Mart lot Monday. He estimated the damage at $400.

A resident of South Center Street told police that someone damaged the lock on her front door by inserting a key into it in an apparent attempt to break in Monday. She estimated damage at $30.

FIRE

* Westminster: Engines from Westminster and Reese were dispatched to a gas line break in the first block of John St. at 9:31 a.m. yesterday. The line was broken by the crew of a construction company replacing the line with a large natural gas main. The call was canceled after five minutes.

* Reese: Reese firefighters were dispatched to an auto fire on Baltimore Boulevard at 3:02 p.m. Tuesday. They were out five minutes.
