An 8-year-old boy died of his injuries after being struck yesterday by a car when he darted into a street near his home in East Baltimore, police said.

Christopher Casto ran into the street from between two parked cars about 7:50 a.m. and was hit by a 1987 Ford Escort traveling east in the 3000 block of E. Baltimore St., police said.

Christopher was pronounced dead about 6:40 p.m. at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center.

Police said the state's attorney's office will review the case to determine if charges will be brought against the driver.
