The Performing Arts Association of Linthicum is planning one of its best seasons ever for 1995-1996. This would be a wonderful year to bring the whole family and introduce them to fine, live entertainment.

The members of Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church are inviting the entire community to hear the heart-warming story of the relationship between the families of their pastor and their retired choir director and organist that stretches over 50 years and thousands of miles.
In addition to hearing the story, visitors will be able to enjoy the rich, tenor voice of the pastor, the Rev. Joel Settembrini, singing solos accompanied by the retired choir director, Charles Haslup.
The program is part of the program for the United Methodist Men's annual ladies night. A dinner will be served for the members and their spouses or friends before the program.
Many in the community are acquainted with Mr. Haslup because of the many years he served as choir director and organist at the church and through his service as an assistant to the president at Towson State University. Mr. Haslup also is one of the founders and early presidents of the Patapsco Valley Chapter 3850 of American Association of Retired Persons and the outstanding leaders of the Notables entertainment group.
While he was stationed in Latiana, Italy, with a 15th Air Force unit during World War II, Mr. Haslup met a 12-year-old boy named Joel Settembrini. A caring relationship developed between the Haslup family and the young boy. Eventually the boy came to the United States for college.
For more information, please call the church office at 859-0990.
