Toddler son of firefighter dies after fall into pond

May 11, 1995

The 2-year-old son of a county firefighter died yesterday morning, a day after he fell into an ornamental fish pond at a house in the 4800 block of Mountain Road, the county fire chief said.

Jordan Ambrozewicz of Pasadena was found by his grandmother about 6 p.m. in a fish pond about 18 inches deep. The grandmother, who was watching Jordan at a friend's house, told fire officials he had been missing for no more than five minutes when she found him in the pond.

A neighbor tried to resuscitate the boy until paramedics arrived, fire officials said. The boy was taken to North Arundel Hospital, then to University Hospital in Baltimore. He died about 7 a.m., said a hospital spokeswoman.

Jordan's father, Steve Ambrozewicz, is a career firefighter stationed at the Riviera Beach station in Pasadena, a firefighter said.
