Pizza deliveryman robbed at motel

May 11, 1995

A Pizza Bell employee was robbed at gunpoint after delivering food to a North Laurel motel Tuesday night, Howard County police said.

The employee was not injured in the 9 p.m. robbery at the Valencia Motel in the 10100 block of U.S. 1, police said.

The victim told police that he made a routine delivery to a room at the motel when he was met by a man armed with a black handgun. Police said the robber threatened to shoot the victim and then took a wallet and watch from the victim's pocket before running outside to the parking lot.

Police said he was seen speeding away in a gray midsize car, possibly an Oldsmobile.
