MASON SPRINGS -- A 52-year-old La Plata man died yesterday after apparently suffering a heart attack at the wheel of his car, then driving off Route 425 and into a tree, state police said.
Anthony Joseph West of the 7000 block of Rose Lane was traveling north on Ironsides Road about 8:15 a.m. when his car ran off the road, north of Smith Drive in this Charles County town, police said. He was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
