Tyson-Foreman not imminent

April 30, 1995|By Alan Goldstein

LANDOVER -- Mike Tyson, who was doing color commentary for the Showtime cable telecast last night at USAir Arena, told the TV audience he had no plans of fighting International Boxing Federation heavyweight champion George Foreman "in the near future."

Foreman, who has said he would not fight Tyson if promoter Don King was involved, plans to retire the end of this year.

Asked about the controversial Foreman-Axel Schulz fight in Las Vegas last week, Tyson said, "George was outpointed. Schulz fought his heart out."
