Wherever you go from sea to shining sea, make sure you're not missing any of the tourist opportunities available at each of your destinations. Each state in the Union has an information service to assist prospective visitors with planning their vacations.

With some services you are asked to leave information on an answering machine, with others you get to speak with a local, whose questions might include, "When is the last time you visited our state?" and "Would you be interested in hearing our latest fishing report?"

Even if you're not ready to plan a vacation, you can request free travel guides from each of these services and build your own travel-guide library.
