Kleiner tosses no-hitter

Sophomore right-hander Alison Kleiner (11-1) threw a no-hitter, going the distance, walking three and striking out 12 as Owings Mills (11-1) shut out Overlea, 4-0, yesterday in softball action.

Owings Mills took an early 3-0 lead run in the first on consecutive singles by Nikki Winik, Kim Kraus, Kristi Sachs and Nicki Immler.

* Oldfields 16, Beth Tfiloh 0: Paige Scully and Liz Hooganboon

combined for a no-hitter to lead Oldfields past visiting Beth Tfiloh.

Scully pitched three innings, striking out eight batters and walking one. Hooganboon pitched the final two innings, walking one batter.


Poly 11, Northern 0: Poly's Dustin Jones (3-0) pitched another no-hitter, including eight strikeouts, to help the Engineers defeat the visiting Vikings.

Jones has not allowed a hit in 23 innings.
