Los Angeles Dodgers -- Placed 3B Tim Wallach on the DL, retroactive to April 22, with a bulging disk in his lower back. Transferred P Rick Gorecki from the 15- to the 60-day DL. Purchased the contract of C Noe Munoz from Triple-A Albuquerque.

St. Louis Cardinals -- Placed 2B Manuel Lee on the 15-day DL. Recalled IF Tripp Cromer from Triple-A Louisville. Agreed to terms with P Rich Rodriguez on a one-year contract.

Sun Belt Conference -- Announced that the Southwestern Louisiana baseball team has ruled itself ineligible for postseason play because of an investigation into alleged improprieties.
