Cardinals nip McDonogh

Andy Bair (6-0, one save) struck out seven against two walks and three hits as visiting and No. 1 Calvert Hall held off No. 2 McDonogh, 2-1, in baseball action yesterday.

Bair threw 86 pitches -- three more than McDonogh ace Mike Ginsberg (5-1), who struck out four, yielded five hits and walked none.
