Poly's Keller tosses no-hitter at Forest Park

Lisa Keller (5-2) pitched a five-inning no-hitter to lead Poly (5-2) over host Forest Park, 23-1, in softball action yesterday.

Keller struck out 12 batters and walked three. Keller also went 4-for-5 with a triple, a home run and two RBIs.

Mandy Bosse had a double, two triples and five RBIs for the Engineers.

Mount Hebron 17, Centennial 8: After losing to Roland Park Saturday and ceding the No. 1 ranking to the Reds, No. 2 Mount Hebron took out some of its frustration on No. 11 Centennial yesterday.

The Vikings broke out of a 3-3 tie with seven straight goals en route to victory in a game that probably will end up deciding the Howard County championship.

Even though the visiting Vikings took a 3-0 lead before the Eagles even managed a shot, Centennial came right back to even it up.

Emily Ward snatched a ground ball that took a friendly hop and fired past Vikings keeper Kristen Foster (12 saves) to tie with 11:21 to go in the first half.

3' But the tie only lasted 20 seconds.
