Man robs High's store, flees on motorcycle

April 26, 1995

A man walked into an Ellicott City High's store, gave a note to a cashier suggesting he had a gun, took cash and then fled on a motorcycle Monday night, Howard County police said.

No one was injured in the 9:50 p.m. robbery in the 9000 block of Frederick Road, police said.

The cashier told officers the robber never showed a gun. Police said the note was threatening enough to scare the worker into turning over an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was last seen riding a dark-colored motorcycle toward U.S. 40 and Saint John's Lane in Ellicott City, police said.

The robber was described as a 6-foot-tall black male in his late 20s, with a stocky build. He wore a black waist-length jacket with red writing on the front, dark pants and a knit cap, police said.

Anyone with information should call Howard County police at 313-3200 or the Metro Crime Stoppers Hotline at 276-8888 to qualify for a $2,000 cash reward.
