Severna Park tops Glen Burnie

Amanda Melgaard broke a scoreless tie with a triple in the sixth inning, and junior Christy Huber allowed only two hits and struck out 11 in No. 2 Severna Park's 2-1 victory over host No. 1 Glen Burnie yesterday.

Pinch runner Laura Snider scored on a sacrifice fly by Alli Adams to give the

Falcons (9-1) a 2-0 lead. Chris Napora delivered an unearned run for Glen Burnie (9-1) in the bottom of the sixth on a groundout.

Denise Warren gave up two hits and struck out six. She also walked six.

Severna Park was coming off Friday's 1-0 upset of then-No. 2 Chesapeake-AA.
