DEATHS ELSEWHERE

April 25, 1995

Jane Kenyon, 47, the New Hampshire poet laureate, died of leukemia Saturday in Wilmot, N.H. The award-winning author of four collected works of poetry wrote of domesticity and the cyclical rhythms of rural life. She was an inward-looking poet of intense emotion, probing her own suffering from manic depression and the suffering of others.

Tessie O'Shea, 82, a Tony award-winning actress who began her career on the music hall stage at age 4, died Friday in Leesburg, Fla. The Welsh-born actress won the Tony for her role in Noel Coward's last musical, "The Girl Who Came to Supper," in 1964.
