Two Marine privates complete training at Parris Island, S.C.

Marine Pvt. Matthew L. Mitchell of Woodbine and Pvt. Sean J. Kenney of Mount Airy recently completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

During the training cycle, recruits are taught the basics of battlefield survival, and introduced to typical military daily routines and personal and professional standards.

Private Mitchell is the son of Loren F. and Nancy L. Mitchell of Woodbine. He is a 1994 graduate of Glenelg High School, Howard County.

Private Kenney is the son of Carol A. Kenney of Mount Airy. He is a 1990 graduate of South Carroll High School.
