ARMED ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man entered Big Daddy's Beauty Supply in the 5900 block of York Road at 6:40 p.m. Saturday, asked to buy a jar of beeswax, then pointed his coat-covered hand at a clerk and demanded money. He fled with $200.

THEFT: Northern District -- The landlord of a building in the 2500 block of Boarman Ave. told police that a former tenant uprooted a 10-foot Japanese dogwood tree from the property last week and sold it for $20 to a neighbor, who planted it in his yard.

SHOOTING: Northern District -- A 17-year-old boy said he was walking in the 400 block of E. 27th St. when he was hit in the leg by an apparent stray bullet. Police said he was treated at Union Memorial Hospital.

WEAPONS ARRESTS: Northern District -- A cab driver told police that when he tried to pull into a gas station in the 3300 block of Greenmount Ave., a passenger pulled a gun and told him, "Turn right or I'll put out your lights." Instead, the driver stopped the cab and ran to police, and his two passengers fled. Two 16-year-olds were arrested on weapons charges. Officers also recovered a loaded .22-caliber handgun, which had been tossed into nearby bushes.

BURGLARY ARRESTS: Northern District -- Two 25-year-old Baltimore men were arrested in connection with the burglary of a home in the 2800 block of Miles Ave. just after midnight Friday. A 9-inch television and a stereo cassette player were stolen.

THEFT: Northern District -- An unidentified man walked off with a Chinese maple tree that had been sitting on the steps at SS. Philip and James Church on North Charles Street. The tree, 3 to 4 feet tall and valued at $110, was stolen between 8:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. yesterday, witnesses told police.

SHOOTING: Northern District -- A man in the 500 block of Richwood Ave. reported that he was shot at by a young teen-ager at 11:40 p.m. Thursday after he ordered a group of young people not to tamper with cars on his street. He was not injured.

ARMED ROBBERY: Western District -- A couple said they were robbed of $74 at gunpoint by three men in the 600 block of Cumberland St. at 5:25 a.m. yesterday. Police arrested one suspect at his home in the same block.
