Townhouse community to open sales office

The Village of Winters Run, a townhouse community built by Scherr Homes, will open its sales office tomorrow.

Off the south side of Singer Road off Route 24 in Abingdon, the community will include 251 townhouses and five single-family homes along Winters Run, surrounded by woods and pastures.

Scherr Homes, which has developed housing since 1948, will build four townhouse models in the New England design style. Floor plans include two and three bedrooms with a variety of options, including sun rooms and decks. The houses will be constructed with block-party walls for fire protection and noise reduction.

Prices start in the high ninety-thousands. Model homes are expected to open mid-June.

County firm to design medical office building

Architectural Design Works Inc., a Harford County-based architectural firm, has been commissioned to design Winters Run Medical Center.

The 10,000-square-foot center will be within the Upper Chesapeake Health Systems' new medical office building at Route 24 and MacPhail Road in Bel Air. Two independent doctor's offices will relocate and consolidate the five-doctor medical practice Winters Run Medical Center.

Construction is scheduled to begin in August.

Architectural Design Works also will design a professional office building for Leland Property Associates Limited Partnership in the MacPhail Office Park.

The 14,000-square-foot building will have three stories and an automated elevator.

Groundbreaking is scheduled for summer.

Architectural Design Works Inc., formed in 1991 through the acquisition of Plitt and Associates Inc., is in the historic Van Bibber House on Main Street in Bel Air.

May 1 set for opening of golf community

Griffith-Brilhart Builders will celebrate the grand opening May 1 of Geneva Farms, a custom-home golf community north of Bel Air.

Grand-opening festivities will include a golf tournament at the Geneva Farm Golf Club. Foursomes are invited to participate in the event, which will benefit FACETS Inc., a nonprofit charity for abused children in Harford County.

Griffith-Brilhart will also offer a preview of the Geneva Farm's grand-opening model home.

Buyers can choose from a portfolio of custom homes for about $350,000 or design their own.

MA Golf tournament reservations can be made by calling 557-8900.
