NBA -- Fined G Sherman Douglas of the Boston Celtics $4,000 for failing to leave the court in a timely fashion and verbally abusing referees during a game Monday night.

Charlotte Hornets -- Placed G Michael Adams on the injured list due to a strained left calf and activated G Tony Bennett.

Philadelphia 76ers -- Activated G B. J. Tyler.

Sacramento Kings -- Placed G Bobby Hurley on the injured list with a strained lower back.

Florida Sharks (USBL) -- Signed F Arthur Agee, the first overall pick in the United States Basketball League, to a one-year

contract.

Memphis Fire (USBL) -- Signed F Eric Mudd.

College

Colonial Athletic Association -- Named Delaware freshman defender Liza Shoemaker (Garrison Forest School) Rookie of the Year in women's lacrosse.

Memphis -- F David Vaughn announced he will forego his final season of eligibility to enter the NBA draft.

Mount St. Mary's -- Announced it will add women's lacrosse in 1996.

Northern Illinois -- Named Angelo Gasca wide receivers coach and Tim Reynolds secondary coach.

Tulane -- Announced it is adding women's soccer as an intercollegiate sport starting with the 1996 season.

L Slippery Rock -- Named Anthony Jones men's basketball coach.

Stony Brook -- Extended the contract of Bernard Tomlin, men's basketball coach, through the 1996-97 season.

Kansas City Chiefs -- Signed unrestricted free-agent S Ronnie Lott, who had been with the New York Jets, to a three-year contract.

New England Patriots -- Re-signed two restricted free agents, RB Corey Croom and C Mike Gisler.

Philadelphia Eagles -- Signed unrestricted free-agent OT Joe Sims to a two-year contract. Re-signed restricted free-agent WR Jeff Sydner to a one-year deal.

Pittsburgh Steelers -- Signed free-agent WR Damon Mays.

Birmingham Barracudas (CFL) -- Signed LB David Arnold, OL Chris Dyko and LB-DE Mark Ledbetter.

Edmonton Eskimos (CFL) -- Signed WR Jack Damuni.

Ottawa Senators -- Recalled RW Pavol Demitra from AHL Prince Edward Island.

Pittsburgh Penguins -- Sent LW Rusty Fitzgerald to IFL Cleveland.

St. Louis Blues -- Signed C Roman Vopat, their seventh-round pick in the 1994 draft.
